Current research
My research focuses on multisensory integration and vestibular perception, as well as sensorimotor adaptations in vestibular system disorders. I study the effects of vestibular stimulation on various aspects of body perception and self-consciousness (e.g., visuo-spatial perspective-taking, sense of body ownership, body schema, and body image).
These studies are conducted in healthy volunteers, brain-lesioned patients, epileptic patients, and patients with vestibular disorders, using neuropsychological and functional neuroimaging approaches (electroencephalography, EEG).
My research combines cognitive neuroscience, experimental psychology, and vestibular physiology. The range of techniques used includes: surface EEG, intracranial EEG (epileptic patients), galvanic vestibular stimulation, vestibular-evoked myogenic potentials (VEMPs), fMRI, psychophysics, videonystagmography, and posturography
