Marie CHANCEL rejoint le CRPN en tant que chargée de recherche CNRS, dans l’équipe Multisense & Body.
Ses travaux portent sur la perception multisensorielle et la métacognition liées au corps propre. Elle explore comment les informations sensorielles contribuent l’appropriation corporelle, à la kinesthésie et à d’autres aspects de la perception corporelle, en combinant psychophysique, neurosciences computationnelles et neuroimagerie.
Elle a obtenu un doctorat en neurosciences cognitives et psychologie à l’Université Grenoble Alpes (2013–2016) sous la codirection de Michel Guerraz (LPNC) et d’Anne Kavounoudias (ex-LNIA), en étudiant l’intégration multisensorielle dans le cadre de la kinesthésie à l’aide d’approches psychophysiques et modélisation bayésienne. Elle a ensuite poursuivi un postdoctorat au Karolinska Institute en Suède (2017–2021) avec Henrik Ehrsson, portant sur l'impact de l’incertitude sensorielle dans l’appropriation corporelle. Plus récemment, elle était postdoctorante à l’Université Grenoble Alpes (2022–2024), où elle a étudié la métacognition perceptive en lien avec le traitement multisensoriel.
Elle a été lauréate de la Chaire d’excellence A*midex 2024 (financement de 3 ans) afin d’explorer les interactions entre les différentes composantes de la perception et de la métacognition corporelles.
Marie CHANCEL is starting as a CNRS chargée de recherche, joigning the Multisense & Body team.
She focuses on multisensory self-body perception and metacognition. Her research explores how sensory inputs contribute to body ownership, kinesthesia, and other aspects of self-body perception, combining psychophysics, computational neuroscience, and neuroimaging.
She obtained her Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology from Université Grenoble Alpes (2013–2016) under the supervision of Michel Guerraz (LPNC) and Anne Kavounoudias (ex-LNIA), investigating multisensory integration in kinesthesia using psychophysics and Bayesian approaches. She then pursued postdoctoral research at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden (2017–2021) with Henrik Ehrsson, studying uncertainty-based inference in body ownership. Most recently, she was a postdoctoral fellow at Université Grenoble Alpes (2022–2024) with Nathan Faivre, where she explored perceptual metacognition and multisensory processing.
She was awarded the A*midex 2024 Chaire d’excellence (3-year funding) to unravel the organization supporting the interactions between the different components of self-body perception and metacognition.
