Titre: Early Semantic Transformations of Memory: The Role of Working Memory
This synthesis examines how working memory contributes to the formation and transformation of long-term memory representations. Drawing on research conducted across development and aging, it shows that memory traces canundergo semantic transformations within seconds of an event, leading to the emergence of false memories. The findings highlight the central role of working memory processes in shaping how experiences are remembered over the lifespan.
