Title: Overcoming Intuitive Strategies to Foster Conceptual Change in Education

Abstract: Many learning difficulties stem not from a lack of reasoning ability but from the persistence of intuitive strategies that appear plausible yet lead to systematic errors. These strategies shape how students interpret situations and often resist instruction. A key challenge for education is therefore to foster conceptual change by helping learners overcome such intuitive responses. This talk presents experimental work showing how learning environments can support this process and promote deeper, more conceptually grounded learning.
