Our research, based on a multidisciplinary approach, aims to understand how animals use spatial information to navigate in space. Recent advances in the neurophysiological basis of spatial cognition provide support for biologically realistic computational models inspired by concepts from cognitive psychology. We are therefore studying not only how animals perceive and orient themselves in space, but also the involvement of several neural systems in these processes.
